Transfer SAP GTS BP master data of FTO or LU to downstream system
As we know FTO and LU are organizational units of SAP GTS.
First of all these Organizational Units are created as a Business Partner, then only we can use this BP for subsequent assignment steps of configuration, and these changes are captured through TR, but Business partners can not capture through TR.
Before transferring this TR to our Unit testing client or Quality or Production system we have to create business partners for FTO and LU in respective clients manually.
During implementation and rollout activities, we have to create multiple Business partners for FTO and LU. But it is time-consuming and boring activities to create the same BPs in all clients like Unit Testing, Quality, and Production system.
Solution:- Transfer of SAP GTS BP master data of FTO or LU to downstream system
For these activities, SAP GTS has a standard function to transfer FTO or LU Business partners to the downstream system.
FTO Business Partner Transfer:-
Path:- IMG –> Global Trade Services –> General Settings –> Organizational Structure –> Transport Foreign Trade Organizations to Downstream Systems
Fill correct BP and RFC destination of downstream system.
LU Business Partner Transfer
Path:- IMG –> Global Trade Services –> General Settings –> Legal Unit –> Transport Foreign Trade Legal Unit to Downstream Systems
Provide correct RFC destination to transport to target downstream system
Note:- 1. System communication has been set up in the source system (definition of RFC destination) and in the target system (assignment to a group of logical systems)
2. The number ranges are configured correctly
3. The business partner in the source system has been created with an external number assignment (can be identified from the number range used).
Is LSMW the only option when it comes to Company codes and Plants in GTS? GTS needs RFC calls for master data and transactional data as well. GTS supports screening of offline files in xml structure but for this you would need more effort than to convince IT.
